The property Stapfelberg 7/9 on the Münsterhügel consists of several historically grown building parts. On the Martinsgasse lies the "Bärenfelserhof" from 1602, extended with a wing and rear house on the Stapfelberg. In the courtyard, inside the parcel, there is a former textile factory from 1833. The entire ensemble is a protected monument.

After various conversions as a bathing establishment, laundry, and women's workplace, the property has been occupied by institutions of the University of Basel and the Museum of Cultures since around 1916. These institutions have left the property. The ensemble is being renovated and given a new use. In the former factory and in the wing and rear house, apartments are to be built.
